The brilliant British documentary filmmaker Paul Rotha made his feature-film debut with 1950's No Resting Place. Filmed on location in Ireland, the film is a lightly fictionalized study of that country's itinerant workmen. Michael Gough plays tinker Alec Kyle, whose life is thrown into turmoil when he accidentally kills a man. Kyle spends the rest of the film evading Guard Mannigan (Noel Purcell), a civil servant who relies on instinct rather than scientific deduction to get his man. Without ever trying to elicit sympathy for his characters, director Rotha manages to compellingly detail the miserable living and working conditions of Ireland's nomad artisans.

He finds out it involves his old flame Evelyn and soon discovers that his past has caught up with him and he may not make it out alive!

In the heart of the city, nestled between office towers, stands a grand building no one talks about anymore: the No No Place Hotel. Once an upscale destination for business travelers and honeymooners, the hotel was abruptly and permanently shut down after twelve minutes of surveillance footage was seen by authorities.

An old mattress is thrown away but plays an unlikely part in the lives of those people who come across it.

By using the motifs of Krleza's play "Adam and Eve", written in 1922, director Tomislav Radic questions a similar pattern of male-female relations in a trivial, contemporary context. With Krleza's lines, Radic counterpoints almost documentary sequences from life, showing how Krleza's youthful distaste for the bourgeois concept of "love" can be actualized in a fundamentally different social environment.

No Place in Anywhere can deal with many issues. It is a personal journey through image and time. It is the portrait of the "La Matriz" neighborhood in Valparaíso. It is the encounter between reality and fiction. It is the constant search to find a truth within the documentary. It is a musical rehearsal. It is the constant preparation of a documentary. It is a documentary of questions more than answers. A silent face, an empty road, a winter landscape, the wind moving the leaves of a tree, a wall, the sea, the street of a neighborhood, all of them intend to "create through the record" a unique truth for each viewer.
